Shelter upgrading is straightforward

Families can use the same roof frame that they built their emergency shelter with to upgrade to the standard RSK shelter when further bamboo becomes available.

This 8 pole roof frame is the basis for all RSK shelters

This ability to use the same bamboo roof for all RSK shelters can save considerable bamboo and timber resources. There is even the potential for the double RSK shelters to be used instead of new transitional shelters as families wait for their homes to be rebuilt.
